Riya is a London-based South Asian set designer and art director working across music, fashion and culture. With a background in architecture, she creates sets, spaces and visual worlds for live performances, music videos, campaigns, editorials and experiential projects.

Her work is hands on, taking ideas from the initial concept and visual research through to building, styling and installation. She has worked across a range of materials and processes, including floral design, prop making, fabrication and spatial styling, creating environments that feel considered and connected to the wider creative direction.

Alongside set design and art direction, Riya creates her own cut and sewn garments and bespoke press-on nails, which can also form part of the creative direction and visual language of her projects.

At the heart of her practice is a desire to create memorable, once-in-a-lifetime experiences. Whether creating a set for a live performance, building a visual world for a campaign or designing an immersive environment, she is interested in creating spaces and moments that people can experience, connect with and remember.
